12th - 14th October 2012	47th Dorset Open Chess Congress to be held at the Bournemouth International Hotel.
Sunday 12th August 2012	Mind Your Head Exhibition to be held at Kingston Maurward College, Dorchester featuring a simultaneous chess event by GM Raymond Keene OBE who will challenge 20 Dorset chess players including the victorious Wimborne team from the recent team quickplay handicap tournament. Tue 3rd July 2012	Dorset Chess Association AGM to be held at 7:30pm at Poole Royal British Legion club. All local league players welcome!
Tue 19th June 2012	B&DCL AGM to be held at 7:30pm at Tuckton Social Club, Southbourne. All local league players welcome!
9th - 16th June 2012	Braille Chess Association The Chairman's Cup will be held at the Whitehall Hotel, Bournemouth. The event is detailed on the BCA website. Volunteers are sought for coaching during the event, if interested please email John Jenkins.
Thu 24th May 2012 evening	Simultaneous chess event Meri Grigoryan, who has a rapidplay chess rating of 200, has agreed to play against 30 boards at Poole Chess Club at a cost of £5 per player. Anyone wishing to take part should contact Poole Chess Club.
Wednesday afternoons	Poole Chess Club holds an informal session every Wednesday afternoon for all levels including non-members at the Flirt Cafe Bar in Bournemouth.
Monday afternoons	Bournemouth Chess Club wishes to publicise that the club is open for a year (apart from being closed in August) from 1pm on Monday afternoons and is free for any Bournemouth players who would like a venue to play in the daytime.
